RESOURCES AVAILABLE FOR YOU
There are many resources for all audiences that both inform and offer support so that you don’t feel alone, isolated, or alienated.
We wish we had this information sooner in our kid’s journey and hope you find it helpful in yours.
Our Story
In 2018 our youngest child came to me (his mom) and very pointedly said; “I am a boy and my pronouns are he/him”. I would say this came completely by surprise but our child had been trying to hint that there was a problem for at least a year. I really do not know how I responded because I was stunned but also, I believed him.
I set about doing research. If you have found yourself here doing that same research, please know, it can be overwhelming. You won’t be able to read all the information or process it all at once, it is a journey.
One of the first things I found is that there were no resources in Columbus, Indiana or the surrounding area for my child or my spouse and I. The other thing I would learn is that my husband and I were also raising a non-binary teen who had been trying to tell us for years.
Over the ensuing years we have cobbled together resources and support for our kids in Columbus and sometimes outside of Columbus. We kept feeling that this should be easier and that “someone” should build a way for those of us in Columbus to seek support and resources for our kids (the ones we are raising or the ones we know and love). We finally decided that this “someone” was us and this website is labor of love born out of our desire to see the transgender kids and teens and the adults who love them thrive in Columbus and surrounding areas.
